Food drinks and vibes were all extraordinary 😍 would go back in a heartbeat. The food is super flavorful where each addition to a dish is intentional. The cocktails were also amazing. The 1987 cocktail awakened my soul, the corn infusion added savory sweetness to the drink elevating it. The service was exceptional. Our waitresses answered all of our questions and the waitstaff flits in and out removing plates and refreshing drinks without us noticing.
The best sea urchin (uni) that I have ever had! They were extremely sweet and tasted really well balanced with the other ingredients. The portion of fried chicken with rice cakes was HUGE. The scallops would have tasted better with less spicy sauce which unfortunately covered the sweetness of the scallop. Had a seat by the counter and the service was very friendly.
I really love the waitress here. She is super cute and professional. I do need to say something about the front desk, she is annoyed. Not respectful, treat us differently than other guests. We were trying to ask what is the appropriate time for walk in, she told the other guests instead of us. She told us there is no approximate time. It really brought me bad memory here. Hope she could learn how to treat customer politely first. Overall speaking, the restaurant is quite good and waitress is 5 stars.
My recent visit to TOKKI was for a company gathering, where our sizable group decided to embark on a culinary journey by ordering the entirety of their menu. What followed was an awe-inspiring exploration of taste and texture that left us all speechless.
A quick tip: the plaza is a hotspot for various renowned restaurants, which often makes finding parking a challenging feat. My suggestion is to park in the vicinity and enjoy a leisurely stroll to the restaurant.
Among the array of delectable offerings, a few dishes stood out, etching themselves in my memory. The Korean Sweet Potato, roasted to perfection, presented a harmonious blend of sweetness and crispiness. The Scallop Poke Bite, featuring Hokkaido scallops wrapped in a delicate fried rice casing, was a visual and culinary masterpiece.
The Perilla Oil Noodles, chilled and tossed in their signature sauce infused with perilla oil, evoked memories of the beloved flavors of Chinese sesame oil chicken noodles. The Beef Tartare, accompanied by homemade Korean pear compote, fresh pear, and a luscious egg yolk paired effortlessly with bread or could be savored as a standalone sensation.
A recommendation that simply can't be stressed enough is the Uni Toast. A divine combination of fresh uni, artisan bread, and creamy avocado, it's a must-try that elevates the dining experience to new heights. The Truffle Kimchi Fried Rice, infused with the bold flavors of kimchi and truffle bulgogi, crowned with a poached egg, was also very delicious!
However, the pièce de résistance was undeniably the Dae-chang (Beef Intestine) over Rice. Marinated in soy glaze, these intestines transcended expectations, offering bold flavors and an unexpected tenderness that left me utterly amazed.
To complement this extraordinary feast, I indulged in the Nightcap cocktail—a cold brew coffee infused soju. The fragrant coffee notes mingled with the spirit, creating a libation that was nothing short of magical.
We enjoyed everything! ❤️Our server was awesome, I don’t remember her name - but she was very nice, recommended us food and drinks, everything tasted great! We liked the rice dish the most! 🍛Awe and sweet potatoes - very delicious!🍠
TOKKI was an awesome dining experience. They serve ‘small plates’ but the portions are sizable - two appetizers and two entrees was enough for the two of us to take home an entire meal’s worth of leftovers!
The kitchen is fast and servers are great. The cocktail menu is creative and I loved the signature drink, called the white rabbit. The food was all delicious. For me, the standouts were the kimchi fried rice, which uses truffle to add aroma. However all food was good.
I would suggest TOKKI to try and improve their dessert menu, which was a bit weak. The lychee panna cotta had a nice texture but not much lychee flavor. The matcha shortbread was tasty but hard to eat. I think for a sharing-focuses restaurant, the desserts could be more shareable.
This place is amazing. I’ve been in LA for a year now and this is my favorite place.
I’m not big on seafood but their scallops were to die for. Be sure to get the raw hokkaido scallops!
Service was great. The quality and execution of each dish was better than I expected for the price.
Highly recommend. Treat’yo self!
Excellent food, excellent service (thanks Jamie) and a pleasant experience overall. Price isn't cheap and the portions are on the smaller side, but quality stood out.
The uni toast was flavorful and had an interesting texture, but not enough brine taste from uni.
The sweet potatoes were simply awesome!
Kimchi truffle fried rice tasted exactly the name suggested, except for the meat could have been from Beef Bowl.
Hokkaido scallops were light and succulent.
Tofu thing (forgot the name) was also excellent.
Two deserts available. I preferred the lychee Panna Cotta over green tea cookie, though both were good.
